The yarns used for Cedarbrook’s Patio collections are made from solution dyed polymer, both polyester and acrylic, sourced in Europe. The pigmented colour is added to the molten polymer, resulting in even colour through the cross-section of the fibre. This differs to conventional dyeing where only the outer layer is coloured. There are two key advantages to this:

• The colour no longer has to have a chemical affinity with the polymer, so we can use pigments which have a much greater resistance to fading than dyestuffs.
• As the colour fades in the outer layer, the exposed area is exactly the same colour. Over long periods, there is little or no change in colour hence our guarantee.
